Tried waxing my tent zippers after a buddy swore by it

Last weekend before a trip up to Lake Lure I hit all my tent zippers with some paraffin wax I had in the garage. Figured it'd just make them slide smoother but instead it actually kept them from getting stuck when dirt and pine needles got in the tracks. Ran into rain on day 2 and the wax didn't mess with the waterproofing at all. Anyone else tried something like this or got a better trick for sticky zippers?

Paraffin is the way to go for sure, I've used it for years on all my gear. Just don't go overboard with it, a light rub along the teeth is all you need or it'll attract more dirt later.

Not sure a little dirt on the zipper tracks is really that big of a deal to obsess over, @charles_coleman. Paraffin wax is a solid trick but this sounds like overthinking a minor inconvenience.
