Vent: bought a $12 no-name fuel canister for my Jetboil and it almost ruined my trip to Yosemite
Two cans, same shelf at REI in Fresno. One was the Jetboil branded canister for $9, the other was a generic one for $12 that looked bigger. I grabbed the generic one thinking more gas for the money. Big mistake. The threads were slightly off and it cross threaded on my stove on night two. Gas started hissing out the top. Had to smother it with a wet towel and let it sit. Lost half the canister and my dinner. The branded one screws on smooth every time and I have never had a leak. Check the threads before you buy, even if the label says it fits. Has anyone else had a canister that just would not seal right?
