Vent: My friend's 'ultralight' sleeping pad review was just a picture of a yoga mat
He swore it saved him 2 pounds and $150 on a recent trip to the Adirondacks. I guess the takeaway is that gear reviews can get pretty creative! Has anyone else seen a 'hack' that made you just shake your head?

Respect the hustle" is right, but that hustle has a limit. I've seen people use a trash bag as a rain jacket, which is fine for a quick dash. But calling a folded-up cardboard box a "sleeping pad insert" for extra warmth? That's just asking for a damp, miserable night. Some creativity is smart, but you gotta know where the line is between a hack and just being unprepared.
