Why does everyone keep buying those giant 4-person tents for solo trips?
Last weekend at Shenandoah, I counted 3 people struggling to pitch massive tents alone while my little 2-person was up in 5 minutes, so why do so many folks ignore weight and setup time just for extra floor space?

Watched a guy at Grayson Highlands spend like 20 minutes wrestling one of those 6-person monstrosities by himself while I had my whole camp set up and was already boiling water for dinner lol. The thing practically became a kite when the wind picked up, almost took him with it. I get wanting space to stretch out but man, there's no way that extra square footage is worth the headache on a solo trip. Plus you're just carrying all that extra fabric and pole weight for nothing.
