Debate: Should a college allow a speaker who denies historical events?

I'm torn on this one. My old school let a speaker come in who questioned the moon landing, and the crowd lost it. Half the students walked out, but the other half said free speech means hearing dumb ideas too. I sort of agree with both sides. Like, where do you draw the line between offensive and just wrong? What would you do if you were on the student board voting on this?

Free speech should protect unpopular opinions, not outright lies that have zero evidence behind them. You can't debate history that never happened, so letting a denialist speak just gives fake ideas a platform they don't deserve.

Exactly, letting them speak makes it seem like their lies are worth debating.
