Free speech club got cancelled on us last minute - what do you do when venues pull out?

Honestly, my campus free speech group had a speaker booked for a debate about housing policy on campus. The day before, the student union said we couldn't use the room anymore because of 'scheduling conflicts.' Found out later it was pressure from a few student senators who didn't like the topic. We ended up moving it to a grassy quad area near the library at 5pm, had about 40 people show up anyway. Still went alright but it felt like a gut punch to have the space yanked. Has anyone else dealt with venues backing out on short notice?

The last time our internet went down on a Friday, I learned the hard way to keep a list of all my account numbers and support numbers saved in a notes app on my phone. Saved us hours of digging through old emails. Also, if you've got a backup router, plugging it in sometimes resets the connection faster than waiting on hold. Keep a cooler full of drinks and snacks handy too, because you'll be camped out by the modem for a while.
