Got my campus flyer rejected for using the word 'debate' in the title

Last semester I made a flyer for a free speech event with 'Debate: Should hate speech be protected?' in big letters. The student activities office told me I had to change it because 'debate' might imply a fight could break out. I swapped it to 'Discussion: Free speech on campus' and got approved in 2 days. Has anyone else had to soften their language just to get an event poster through administration?

WAIT they actually tried to ban the word "debate"? That is INSANE to me. Like, that specific word is literally what college is supposed to be about. I had a similar thing happen with my group last month, they made me take "Controversial" off a poster about a political panel. Now I just use "Conversation Hour" for EVERYTHING even if we're planning a full on argument tournament. It's like they think students are made of glass and will shatter if they see a strong adjective.
