I let a speaker from Turning Point USA book my campus room after the admin said no

I had to choose between following the official booking policy and letting them speak anyway, so I went rogue and used my club budget to reserve it under a fake event name. It worked but now the dean is investigating me - has anyone else risked their standing to host a controversial speaker?

Yeah "went rogue" is a perfect way to put it. It's wild how these little moments of just doing the thing yourself end up being the only way stuff actually gets done, idk. Feels like most of the rules in life are really just suggestions until someone makes a stink.

You said "until someone makes a stink" and that's exactly what's happening now, isn't it @ericfox? The dean is making a stink, but what's the real cost here? Did you think about what happens if your club gets suspended or loses its funding over this, or were you just focused on getting the speaker in the room?
