My poli sci prof told me 'free speech dies when you coddle the loudest' in 2018

Back in my sophomore year at UT Austin, Professor Hendricks said that during a lecture on campus protests. I thought he was just being dramatic. Fast forward to last spring when some group tried to shut down a speaker with a bullhorn outside the student union. The admin basically let it happen to keep the peace. Now I get what he meant. Anyone else have a prof who predicted this stuff years ago?

Man same thing happened at my school back in 2019. Prof warned us about how "safe spaces" would turn into silencing anyone with a different opinion. Then a conservative speaker got shouted down in the library and admin just rolled over. Dude was totally right about where we were heading.
