Question about the $180 I dropped on a 'Free Speech' law seminar in Austin

I paid $180 for a weekend seminar in Austin last month that promised to teach students how to handle campus speech codes, but it was mostly a guy selling his own merch and telling us to 'just film everything.' One side says these paid trainings are a scam that preys on people scared of getting punished for what they say, while the other side says even a little info is worth it when your school is threatening you. I lost a whole Saturday and that money, and I still don't know if I should warn people or if I'm just bitter. Has anyone else paid for one of these and actually got something useful out of it?
