Warning: I spent $75 on a campus protest permit that got denied for 'content review'
The university said our flyer language was too 'inflammatory' even though it just quoted a Supreme Court ruling, so now I'm out the fee and we can't hold the event, which feels like a clear speech tax.

Right about that "permit office budget," @the_fiona. They tax your speech and then censor it, which is a double scam. The real content they can't handle is their own policy.

That's some expensive content review. So they charge you seventy-five bucks just to tell you the Supreme Court's own words are too spicy for campus? Sounds like the real inflammatory thing here is their permit office budget.

Exactly. It's a racket. They make you pay for the privilege of being told no. Saw a kid last year get denied for quoting the Declaration of Independence. The line about overthrowing governments made them nervous. The whole system is designed to make free speech a paid service they can cancel.
