Wasted $400 on a campus free speech event that got shut down in 20 minutes
I paid for a speaker to come to my college in Ohio, but the admin canceled it right after he started because they said it was a 'safety risk', and I never got a refund - has anyone else lost money on a campus speech that got pulled last minute?

My $300 ticket for a talk at Kent State vanished when they pulled the plug before the first question.

Kent State too? That's wild. They shut it down before a single question was even asked. What kind of safety risk pops up that fast? Feels like an excuse. You're out three hundred bucks for basically nothing.

Yeah so my buddy over at UC got burned the same way. He dropped like $250 on a speaker who was supposed to talk about free expression on campus and the admin pulled the plug like fifteen minutes in. They said something about a "credible threat" but nobody ever told him what it was. He's still pissed about it, never got a cent back either.
