Finally got my boss to let me speak up in a meeting without getting shut down

I work at a small marketing firm in Austin and for months I'd get cut off every time I tried to share ideas during team meetings. Last week I started writing my points down and handing them to the boss before the meeting started. She actually read one out loud and people liked it. Now I'm wondering if I should keep doing this or if it's just a one-time thing. Has anyone else found a way to get heard when your workplace culture is set against letting juniors talk?

Write it down and hand it to her again next meeting. See if she keeps reading them out loud. That tells you if it was a fluke or a real opening. If she does it three times in a row, you've found your method.

Tried something similar with my neighbor who kept borrowing my grill without asking. Wrote him a sticky note outlining a grill sharing schedule and stuck it on his door. He never said a word about it, but the next week he left a bag of charcoal on my porch. We've been trading grill favors ever since. Sometimes the indirect approach works, sometimes it just creates a weird new tradition. Either way, you learn something about the person. Three times in a row sounds like a solid test, just don't be surprised if she starts handing you notes back.
