Got my comment deleted on a local news site for mentioning a city council vote
Last week I posted a simple question about why our town voted against the new park funding. The comment was gone in an hour with a message saying it 'violated community standards', lol. Has anyone else had a post removed just for asking about a public meeting?

Ugh, this happens everywhere now. They don't want real talk, just quiet agreement. Seen it on school boards, neighborhood apps, all of it. Asking a simple question gets you shut down. Makes you wonder what they're trying to hide.

Honestly though, is every shutdown some big cover-up? Sometimes people just get tired of the same old arguments. Like on my neighborhood page, someone will ask "why are we planting tulips" and it turns into a three day fight about city budgets. Maybe they're not hiding anything, they're just exhausted.

Tried asking about the new park benches on our town site last month. Got a boilerplate reply and the thread locked. So I called the parks department directly, got a real person, and they explained the whole vendor contract issue in five minutes. Sometimes you just have to go around the broken system, you know?
