Got told to shut up about the leaky pipe, three weeks later my whole ceiling caved in.
Was at a friend's house party in Portland last month and saw water pooling under the kitchen sink. Mentioned it to the host, he got defensive and said it was just condensation. I kept quiet because I didn't want to be that guy. Three weeks later his roommate texted me a pic of the drywall falling apart. Anybody else been in this spot where you see trouble coming but the person insists on ignoring it?

People just don't want to hear bad news until it's too late, do they.

Claire's right on the money. I once spent a week insisting to my landlord the weird smell wasn't "just the cat" until the pipe burst and I looked like a total idiot.
