My $300 lesson about trying to warn people on a gardening forum

I lost that much on a 'guaranteed' pest trap after a mod deleted my review calling it a scam and banned me for 'spreading misinformation' when I posted the proof, so has anyone else had a review taken down just for being negative?

That's brutal, sorry that happened. Seen it before on some forums where the mods get a bit too cozy with the sponsors (or just hate being wrong). Next time, maybe post the proof on a personal blog or social media and just link to it. They can delete the link, but the proof stays up somewhere else. A lot of those "guaranteed" garden gadgets are total junk anyway.

Ngl that's rough. You put in the time to warn people and they just shut you down. I had a similar thing happen on a reptile forum when I tried to warn folks about a bad heat lamp brand. The mods deleted my posts and said I was starting drama, even though I had pictures of the melted fixture. It's infuriating when they treat honest feedback like it's some kind of attack. Ben's idea about hosting the proof somewhere else is solid. I'd rather have my stuff pulled from a forum than lose three hundred bucks again.
