Rant: That horrible week my neighbor reported me to the HOA for a political sign
Last November, I put a small sign in my front yard supporting a local school board candidate, and within two days I got a letter saying it violated the 'no political signage' rule... but I saw three other signs on my block that stayed up all month. It turned into a whole mess where I couldn't say anything at the neighborhood meeting because the HOA board shut me down fast. Has anyone else dealt with a rule being enforced only against certain people?

Hang on, they wouldn't even let you speak at the neighborhood meeting? That's a whole different level of messed up. In my experience, even the worst-run HOA meetings usually let people have their two minutes to rant about enforcement. Shutting you down like that tells me they knew they were playing favorites and just didn't want to hear it out loud.

You're mad about a sign that sat up for two days, and now you're acting like this was some huge injustice. It's a pretty minor rule, and honestly, this kind of stuff happens all the time with HOAs. Just put the sign away and move on, it's not like they fined you a thousand bucks or took your house.
