The day I realized my 'helpful' feedback was just mansplaining at work

I was on a conference call with a client last Tuesday and kept cutting off my coworker to explain her own idea better, until she just went silent. Later she pulled me aside and said 'thanks for the assist, but I had it handled' and I felt like a total jerk for not seeing it sooner. Anybody else ever have that moment where you thought you were contributing but you were actually shutting someone down?

Three years ago I interrupted my sister at a family dinner to finish her story about her job, and she just looked at me until I realized what I was doing. Why do we think our version of someone else's idea is somehow better than theirs?
