Told my wife's book club the novel was overrated, got banned from the snack rotation

Last month she hosts and I wander in during the discussion. They're all gushing about some literary fiction where nothing happens for 300 pages. I said it read like someone got paid by the comma. You'd think I insulted their kids. Three of them just stared at me, one lady actually gasped. My wife gave me the look, you know the one. Now I'm not allowed to speak at book club and I have to supply the cheese plate for the next two meetings. Was it worth it? Honestly, yeah. Has anyone else been exiled from their partner's group activity for stating an honest opinion?
