Update on my HOA fight over the mailbox flag color
My HOA said I had to keep the flag red on my mailbox, but I looked up the rules and it only says 'standard colors' without listing them. I paint it green last week and nobody has said a word. Any of you ever beat an HOA by finding a loophole in their own rules?

Paint it neon orange with polka dots next time. If "standard colors" isn't defined then technically neon orange is a color and standard could mean anything. My buddy beat his HOA by painting his shutters purple because the rule said "earth tones" and he argued that dirt has purple in it sometimes. Just don't let them amend the rules before your next paint job.

@emerychen That "dirt has purple" logic is genius, makes me think half of all rules just rely on nobody asking dumb enough questions.
