Broker quote jumped from $700 to $1,450 after my car sat in a Phoenix lot for 9 days
Booked a transport from Phoenix to Seattle back in March and the broker quoted me $700 with a 3 to 5 day pickup window. Day 4 came and went, then day 7, and my car was still sitting in a dirt lot off Buckeye Road with no driver assigned. I called every day and kept getting told it would move 'by the weekend,' and on day 9 they said the price was now $1,450 since no driver would take it at the original rate. I told them to cancel and found a small family hauler out of Tacoma on a load board who picked it up that Friday for $850 cash. The car showed up 3 days later with a cracked mirror and 40 extra miles on the odometer. I filed a claim with the broker's insurance but got offered $75, which I turned down. Has anyone actually gotten a broker to honor their original quoted price, or is the deposit just gone once they relist it?
