Changed my mind about enclosed shipping after talking to a classic car guy in Ohio

I always thought open transport was fine for any car, but a guy named Hank who ships old Mustangs told me about a rock chip that ruined a fresh paint job on I-80 last summer. Now I'm wondering if the extra $400 for enclosed is worth it for my restored '66 pickup - has anyone else made that switch and regretted the cost?

Paid the extra for enclosed when I moved my '70 Challenger cross-country and it was worth every penny. The peace of mind alone during the drive was nice, plus no touch-ups needed on the other end. Your truck's paint is too fresh to risk it for a few hundred bucks.

Did you end up claiming anything through their insurance for that peace of mind, or was it just a "hope for the best" kind of thing?
