Hit 100 shipped cars this month and the pattern surprised me
Crossed my 100th vehicle shipped this year, a 2018 Civic going from Austin to Denver, and the weird part is every single one of my delays came from pickup dates, not delivery. Has anyone else noticed that the wait on the front end is always worse than the actual drive time?

...which honestly lines up with something I heard from a dispatcher out in Phoenix a while back. They said the whole system is basically built around pickup windows, not travel time, because that’s where everyone’s schedule has to sync up. The driver might be ready, but the seller, the broker, and the lot all have to be on the same page at the same minute or it just sits. Delivery is usually just a straight shot once it’s loaded, but pickup is a mess of “oh he’ll be there at 2” and then it’s 5. Plus, you’re dealing with people who aren’t in a hurry to hand over the keys, whereas once it’s on the truck, you’re the one in control. I’ve had cars sit three days waiting on a title sign-off, then roll 900 miles in one night with zero issues.
