I finally figured out why my resume kept getting filtered, and it took 4 months and 60 applications
I was applying to IT jobs in Phoenix for 4 months with 60 applications and got 2 callbacks, so I paid a recruiter $80 to look at my resume. She said my education section was at the top and most of these systems scan for the job title in the first line. Has anyone else moved their work history above their degree and seen a real change?
Moving work history above the degree made a huge difference for me, got way more callbacks after I did it. Also make sure your exact job title from the posting shows up in that first line or the scans just toss you.
