Just realized my worst work day in years was because of a single meeting

Two days ago, I had a project review with my boss, Sarah, and a client from Chicago. I had prepped for five hours, but Sarah took over and changed the whole plan in front of them without telling me. It made me look totally unprepared and the client asked me three times to clarify basic points. Has anyone else had a boss undermine them like that, and how did you handle it?

That exact thing happened to me last year. For a long time, I gave bosses the benefit of the doubt, calling it poor planning. Seeing your post made it click. It's a choice to take over like that, and it wrecks your trust. I started writing down my plan and sending it to everyone before the meeting. It doesn't stop the move, but it makes the record clear. It changed how I see those moments.

Ever notice how people who are supposed to be on your team are the first to change the game? It's a power move, not a mistake, and it makes the whole day feel pointless.
