My boss said my project updates were 'just noise' and it clicked
For two years, I sent weekly email summaries with every tiny detail. I thought being thorough was key. Then, in a one on one, my manager said, 'This is just noise, I need the blockers and the bottom line.' That was six months ago. Now I send three bullet points max: done, next, stuck. Has anyone else had to totally change how they report up the chain?

Did you ever get pushback from other people who were used to the old, long updates? I had to switch to a short format too and some senior folks kept asking for way more detail. Took a while to get everyone on the same page.
