My old boss in Chicago pulled me aside after a bad meeting and said, 'Stop trying to be perfect, just be done.'

It happened in the break room six months ago, and now I finish drafts way faster. Has anyone else gotten a piece of advice that just clicked like that?

Just be done" sounds like a recipe for sloppy work to me.

Sloppy work" is a bit much, isn't it?

Tbh there's actually a whole concept in productivity writing called the "Pareto Principle" or 80/20 rule that basically says the first 80% of a project gives you the most value. Makes sense why good enough is often better than perfect.
