Overheard a junior dev say 'I don't need feedback' and it hit me hard

I was sitting in a coffee shop near my office last Tuesday and heard this young guy on the phone telling someone he didn't need their notes on his code because he already knew it was good. Honestly, it reminded me of when I started my tree service 6 years ago and I refused to listen to a senior arborist about how to rig a big limb. Almost dumped a branch through a customer's fence. Has anyone else had that moment where you realized feedback was actually saving you from a mess later?
