Picked a profit share job over a higher salary last year
Had to choose between a $75k salary at a big flooring chain or a $55k base plus 10% profit share at a small crew. Took the profit share and cleared $85k last year since we had a killer run of high-end custom jobs. Anyone else gamble on a commission or share structure and have it work out?

Man that's gotta sting a little, @the_jason. A one-time bonus check beating out what you grind for all year? I've been there myself a couple times and it's a weird feeling. Hope your next commission cycle turns things around for you, that kind of thing can really mess with your head.
