PSA: I learned the hard way that saving every single email will cost you a promotion
Last month I missed out on a senior accountant role at my firm in Cleveland because I had over 12,000 archived emails cluttering my inbox. My boss needed a quarterly report from 2 years ago and it took me 45 minutes to dig it up while the other candidate handed theirs over in 2 seconds. Turns out, keeping everything "just in case" makes you look disorganized even if you know the numbers cold. Has anyone else gotten dinged for being a digital hoarder during a review or interview?

Did you check if your email system has a better search function built in? I have thousands of old emails and can usually find what I need in under a minute.

Started tagging emails with keywords. Total game changer for me.
