Shoutout to the mentor who told me to stop jumping between industries every 18 months

I was talking to an old boss of mine over coffee last month in Austin. He looked at my resume and pointed out that I had switched from marketing to sales to operations in like 4 years. He said every time I leave, I throw away the network and skills I built. Now I've been in one field for 2 years and I'm actually getting promoted. Has anyone else had that wake-up call about job hopping?

Wait, hold up. You're telling me this person just kept eating stuff they didn't like on the off chance they hadn't tried the right one yet? Like, with mushrooms? I've had people tell me I just haven't had them cooked right, but I've tried them fried, raw, in soup, on pizza, you name it. They're still slimy dirt sponges to me. That's wild.
