Stop applying to 50 jobs a day and expect different results
I spent 6 months blasting out resumes like crazy, maybe got one callback. Then a HR lady at a bar told me to pick 5 openings a week and tailor every single thing. I got an interview in 3 weeks. Anyone else dumb down their approach and actually get somewhere?

Tried that too and got a call back from a place that misspelled my name in the rejection letter.

Honestly, I think you might be reading too much into the misspelled name thing. That happened to me once where they spelled my name "Jon" instead of "John" in the rejection email, but when I checked later it was just a typo by the intern who copied the info from my resume. Ngl, it stings but it doesn't mean they didn't take you seriously or anything. A lot of those rejection letters are just templates anyway, so the person hitting send probably didn't even look close at the details.
