Switched from cold emailing to LinkedIn messaging and it made all the difference
For about 6 months I was blasting out cold emails to hiring managers, maybe getting a 5% response rate if I was lucky. Then a buddy in HR told me recruiters actually check LinkedIn messages more often than their work inbox. I switched to sending a short note on LinkedIn instead, just 3 sentences mentioning something specific about their company. In the last 3 weeks I've gotten replies from 4 out of 12 people I reached out to. Has anyone else noticed a big difference between platforms when networking for a job?

Honestly I used to think LinkedIn was pointless but yeah this changed my mind.

Totally agree! I had the same thing happen. Cold emails felt like sending messages into a black hole, but LinkedIn messages actually got read and replied to within a few days. It's wild how much better the response rate is when you keep it short and personal like that.
