The way I used to network versus how I do it now is night and day

Back in the 90s I would hand out business cards at every Chamber of Commerce meeting in Dallas, hoping someone would remember my face. Now I just send a quick LinkedIn message after a webinar and actually land meetings that lead somewhere. Has anyone else found that online connections stick better than the old in-person handshake routine?

Wait, you're surprised? I was too honestly, I figured LinkedIn was just for posting motivational quotes and trying to look busy. But a buddy of mine closed a pretty solid deal last month just from commenting on a CEO's post, so I had to eat my words on that one.
