Told my boss I wanted more money and got put on a project nobody else wanted
After two years at the same pay, I asked for a 10% raise last month. Instead of a yes or no, my manager gave me lead on a messy client account that had been passed around the team. I spent three weeks fixing their reporting system, which was a total headache. It actually showed I could handle more complex work, and I got the raise yesterday. Has anyone else had a raise request backfire in a weirdly good way?
