Warning: That fancy standing desk mat was a total rip off at $80
I saw all the hype about those standing desk mats that claim to fix your back and legs. Dropped $80 on one from a website that looked legit. After two weeks my feet were still killing me and the mat started peeling at the edges. I ended up just using an old bath mat from my closet and it works way better for zero dollars. The rubbery smell from the fancy mat gave me a headache in my home office too. Anybody else get burned by one of those overpriced accessories that promise to save your career?

Honestly it's just a piece of foam, not sure what people expected for eighty bucks.

You honestly just a piece of foam" is pretty much the bottom line here. I bought one of those memory foam pillows once that cost about that much and it was basically a brick. Had to break it in for a week before my neck would let me sleep. From what I've seen with these kinds of pads or cushions, you're basically paying for the name and the shape that's supposed to work for your specific setup. Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't. If it's just a flat slab of foam with no real structure, you're probably better off with a cheap bath mat from the dollar store. At least you can test that before you buy.
