Ever have a moment where you're so sure you're right that you double down? I did that with a plumber over a simple washer hookup, and man, was my face red. Sometimes you just gotta listen to the guy who does it every day.

Ugh, my buddy was so sure his deck boards needed a huge gap for drainage. He fought with this carpenter for ten minutes about it. The guy just kept calmly saying the wood was treated differently now and would shrink. Sure enough, after a season, those tight boards had perfect little gaps. My friend had to buy the guy a six pack just to say sorry for being a brick wall.
