A simple act of honesty from my kid made me rethink client estimates
Overcharging feels just as dirty as underbidding.

That part about kids not having the filter is so true. It's like we learn to build a whole system of tiny justifications for small stuff, like taking extra ketchup packets or rounding up hours on a timesheet. Then one day a kid just points at the pile and asks why you have so many, and the whole house of cards falls down. Makes you check yourself on all the little ways you might be cutting corners without even noticing anymore.

Man, that's everywhere though. Watch how fast someone will bend the truth to save five bucks at a return counter, but then get all high and mighty about bigger stuff. Kids don't have that filter yet, they just see the thing.

Wait, so you were actually overcharging before? That's wild your kid called that out. Honestly makes me wonder how many people do that and just shrug it off. Tbh that's a solid lesson for them though, way better than just talking about right and wrong. Ngl I'd feel pretty busted if my own kid pointed out something that shady.
