Called BS on pocket hole jigs for years. Finally tried one last week.
Been building cabinets since 2002. Always thought pocket holes were for hobbyists. Real joinery meant dovetails or biscuits. But I had to build 12 drawer boxes for a kitchen in Arlington and it was taking forever. Borrowed my buddy's Kreg jig for the job. Cut my time in half and the things are rock solid after glue up. Still not gonna use them for face frames but for drawer boxes it's legit. Any other old timers here change their mind on something they swore they'd never use?

Man, I was the exact same way. I swore up and down pocket holes were just cheating and that real woodworkers used mortise and tenon for everything. Then I had to build 30 cabinet doors for a condo reno and the client wanted them done in a week. Bought a cheap jig just to try it and I felt like an idiot for fighting it for so long lol. Still won't use them on stuff that's gonna be visible but for hidden joints where speed matters, they're a game changer. The glue up makes them stupid strong too, I've dropped test pieces on concrete and they held.
