Finally fixed a crooked door frame after 4 hours of cursing

I had this one door in my own house that never closed right. At first I thought the hinges were loose so I tightened them, no luck. Then I checked the jamb and realized it was off by about 3/8 inch at the top. It took me way longer than I want to admit to figure out I needed to shim the hinge side and recut the strike plate. Has anyone else had a simple fix turn into a whole afternoon project?

Oh man, I feel your pain... I had this old closet door that would scrape the floor every single time you opened it. Thought it was just the house settling so I ignored it for months. Finally got around to pulling the pins and sanding the bottom, only to realize the frame was actually twisted like a pretzel. Ended up having to take the whole thing apart and shim it in three different spots... took me a whole Saturday afternoon and my back was killing me.
