My $180 trim router crapped out mid-staircase and I'm done with cheap collets
Was wrapping up a red oak handrail in a client's place in Boise on Tuesday when the collet on my trim router let go and chewed a 3 inch gouge in a finished baluster. I'd only run maybe 40 feet of profile with it, and the bit walked because the collet was junk from day one. Anyone got a trim router under $250 that actually holds a bit straight, or am I just supposed to drop $400 on a Festool?
