Overheard a guy at the lumber yard that made me rethink my blade storage
I was picking up some oak yesterday and heard this contractor talking about how he found a chip in his brand new Forrest blade because he just tossed it loose in his truck bed with a bunch of other tools. Said it cost him $120 to replace and he lost half a day on a custom cabinet job. It got me thinking, I've been guilty of just hanging my blades on a nail in the shop and letting them knock around. Do any of you use a good system for keeping blades protected, or am I the only one being sloppy about it?

I switched to those plastic blade sleeves you can buy for like five bucks each and never looked back. They slide right on and keep everything from chewing up the teeth, even when I'm throwing blades in my toolbox drawer with wrenches and stuff. I also built a little wall rack out of scrap plywood with slots for each blade, keeps them separated and easy to grab. For the truck, I just use an old canvas tool roll I had lying around, works perfect for keeping them from banging together on the road.

Dude, yes! Those plastic sleeves are a total lifesaver, I use them for all my saw blades too.
