PSA: My stain mix-up left a cabinet looking purple under kitchen lights

I was finishing a custom cabinet and grabbed a can I thought was ebony stain. It ended up being a berry shade, and now in the evening light, it has a purple tint that the homeowner finds cool. Has something like this ever happened to you on a project?

Bet the homeowner never realized they wanted moody purple cabinets until your mistake showed them lol. Sometimes our screw-ups accidentally do the client's interior design thinking for them.

My cousin's contractor accidentally used this warm terracotta paint on her living room walls instead of plain beige. She was mad at first but now it's her favorite room in the house, says it feels cozy. It's like what @evan597 said, you can just own the happy accident. Sometimes people need a little push to see they wanted something bold all along.

My pressure washer once gave a driveway a permanent pink tint, so now I call it the sunset special and charge extra lol.
