Unpopular opinion: that perfect framing week everyone dreams of is a myth
Last March I had a job framing a small shed in Boise, Idaho, and it was the worst week of my career. Every single stud I cut seemed to be off by a quarter inch because my tape measure had a nick I didn't notice until day three. Has anyone else had a whole week where one tiny tool problem just ruins everything?

Oh man, that is brutal. I had a similar thing happen with a speed square that had a tiny burr on it, threw off every angle cut for half a day before I finally figured out what was going on. It's amazing how one little nick or ding can make you question your own skills. Take this with a grain of salt but I always check my tape against a known straight edge now on Monday mornings, just to be safe.
