Cracked a concrete slab trying to stretch carpet in a new build last Tuesday

I was working this new house over by the river in Greenville and had this big open living room to do. Got the carpet laid out fine but when I went to stretch it with my power stretcher I heard this loud pop and thought it was the carpet tearing. Nope, I cracked the damn concrete slab right along a control joint. Homeowner was standing there watching me too which made it worse. Turns out the slab was way too thin and they didn't put enough rebar in it. I had to call my boss and the builder got involved and now there's a whole thing about who pays for it. Anyone else run into thin slabs that can't take the tension from a good stretch?

Same thing happened to me last spring on a job in Simpsonville. Total nightmare.
