Double-cut trick on a thick berber, should've done it years ago

Had a 12 foot seam last Tuesday in Portland and the customer's berber was so dense my single pass left a visible line. First pass with the straight blade, second pass on the same line with a hooked blade, seam vanished. Anyone else run into this on high-pile jobs?

Second pass with a different tool almost always finds what the first one missed, same as life.
