Got roasted for not backrolling carpet seams enough
A senior installer watched me do a seam in a basement and said 'that's gonna gap in 6 months.' He was right, I was only using about 2 inches of overlap on each side. Now I go for a full 4 inches and use a weighted seam roller for extra pressure. Anyone else pick up a simple fix like that late in the game?

You ever try a weighted roller with a longer handle? I grabbed one off a buddy and it made a world of difference for getting that extra pressure deep into the seams without killing my back.

Wait, have you ever noticed how the same tool can feel totally different depending on who made it? I actually saw this article a couple weeks back about how the weight distribution matters just as much as the handle length. They were saying that if the roller is too heavy on one end, it throws off your whole arm and you end up straining your shoulder instead of your back. It made me think about how I always grab the cheap ones and wonder why I'm sore in weird places. Maybe I should try asking around for a nicer one before I wreck my joints too.
