Holding out for proper tack time cost me a job, but I'd do it again
Most installers say you can cut drying time to meet a tight schedule. I disagree completely. Last week, I had a client who needed a hotel lobby done in one day. The glue needs at least twelve hours to set right. I told them it couldn't be rushed, so they brought in another team. That crew finished fast, but two days later, the edges were already peeling up. My approach might mean losing some work, but it keeps my jobs solid for years. Rushing just leads to problems down the line.

Yeah, when you said the edges peeled after two days, that's the classic rush job fallout. I always explain to customers that glue needs its full cure time, no shortcuts. Lost a few bids over it, but never had a comeback for lifting floors. Better to be known for solid work than fast disasters, lol.

That "classic rush job" is exactly why your way is right. It's not worth the callback.
