I finally switched from a standard utility knife to a hook blade for cutting carpet pad

Always used the regular one for years, but the hook blade just glides through the foam without catching or tearing it. Did a 900 square foot house in Portland last week and it cut my pad cutting time almost in half. The clean edge makes a huge difference on the seams too. Anyone else make a simple tool swap that felt like a game changer?

Yeah, that "cut my pad cutting time almost in half" part is so real. I put it off for way too long thinking it was just a gimmick. The first time I used one on a foam pad, it was just... quiet. No more of that ripping sound.
