Switched to a different seam roller and my seams went from visible to gone

I was getting a lot of callbacks for seams you could feel with your feet, especially on that tight loop commercial stuff. My old roller was just a basic plastic one from a starter kit. About two months ago I bought a heavy duty metal roller with a wider, flatter wheel, maybe 3 inches across. The difference was instant. On a job last week with a dense office carpet, the seams I did with the new tool are completely smooth, you can't find them even if you try. The extra weight and surface area just presses the adhesive up through the backing way better. Anyone else find a specific tool that fixed a common problem like this?

Oh man, that reminds me of when I finally upgraded my cheap utility knife. Total game changer for cutting straight lines.

Yeah @jenny580, a sharp blade makes ALL the difference, I keep a pack of fresh ones in my toolbox now.
